Toronto based singer/songwriter Kiki Rowe makes her official introduction to the world with the release of her self-titled debut EP and it does not disappoint. Hailing from the Bat area, Kehlani is making a name doing things her own way. Fresh on the release of her Cloud 9 EP full of potential hits such as “FWU” and “Deserve Better” and a throwback style reminiscent of the late 90’s early 2000’s, she is destined to make waves. Her following is steadily increasing (her fans call themselves the Tsunami Mob) and is set to go on tour with G Eazy this year.

Writing songs since he was 13, the self taught musician grew up in St.Louis, Missouri, before moving on to New York to study at NYU. While writing and recording in New York, Burnette was discovered and ended up signing a publishing deal with Sony/ATV in 2010. A year later he signed a label deal with Warner Bros. Brandyn describes his music as “a tasteful blend of Soulful-Pop music.” He is currently working on his debut album while releasing covers to help build his buzz.

Ginette Claudette has been on our radar for quite a while now. She recently released a fantastic mixtape titled Everythings Coming Up Roses which you can download for FREE right HERE . Fade is the first release from her debut project, the song was written by Ginette and produced by August Rigo (who has written hits for tons of heavy weights *ahem Justin Bieber for example. ) Fade really showcases her talent as not only a phenomenal singer but also an extremely talented song writer. FYI: she also wrote No Such Thing As Too Late for Brandy. Check out the official video for Fade below.

Born in Mogadishu and raised in Toronto, sisters Siham and Iman Hashi a.k.a Faarrow (a combination of their names’ meanings translated from the Arabic: “faith” and “arrow”.) are definitely two to look out for. I don’t have much information on them at this point but after finding out they’re currently working on new music with producer extraordinaire No I.D and are about to release an EP, I cannot wait!
In the meantime, check out this extremely creative mashup of Katy Perry’s Wide Awake and and the Kanye West, Jay-Z and Frank Ocean track ‘No Church In The Wild’.

Just came across this new track through Arjan. This electro pop duo from Brooklyn have been busy lately working on tons of new music. As they explain, their new single Stay Awake “tells a story about unexpectedly meeting someone special, and finding yourself on an adventure with them. Afraid that this spontaneous connection wont last beyond the night, you fight to keep the adventure going.” Check out Stay Awake below!!
digging them up more, I also came across an awesome remix of their song Here Now by Toronto rapper iSH which results in an upbeat song about a relationship gone wrong. You can check that out below!

I hadn’t heard of STORi until today, but I have to say I’m happy I came across her stuff. The young New Jersey natives ability to paint pictures with her edgy lyrics and rhythmic melodies instantly grab the attention of any first time listener. Her track Just Another Day is an ode to New Jersey and Queen Latifah and has a real throwback vibe to it.
I think what’s most impressive about STORi is how easily she goes from a Hip Hop song like Just Another Day to a smooth R&B cut like Jump Off To Lovers. It’s safe to say STORi is one to look out for!
